The South Carolina State Fair. When you are a kid it seems like one of the best weeks of the year. All the fun rides, specialty foods, and the games. It was like having your birthday when it wasn't your birthday. Sadly enough when you get older the fair seems a little.....bland. Yes the food is always good, but then you have to factor in how you will pay for all of the joys you had as a kid. You probably can only fit on maybe 5% of the rides considering you are a lot taller than any kid. Last year it was $7 to get into the fair and you buy tickets 5 for one dollar. Now it is $8 to get into the fair and $1 per ticket. Do the math.....one dollar per ticket and the good rides cost at minimum 3 tickets. That's a lot of money. I didn't go to the fair this year, but I know people who went and this is how I know how high the fair is now. I guarantee that the food is the same price, but I heard the drinks went up from $2 a bottle to $3 a bottle (notice that you only pay $1.29 for the same bottle drinks in a store). Clearly someone isn't too worried about the bad economy knowing that people will come to the fair anyway just to spend the money. Oh well, I can't wait until next year when the fair comes to see if the admission price will be $9.....ooops did I spill a secret???

I agree, the fair is like the movies in a sense. Prices are always going up but people still go and pay all the high prices to have a good time. Like you said though, as you get older you start noticing how much it costs and have to budget. I'm interested to see how prices differ next year as well, I bet they will go up like you said.
